Lichfield historic vehicles auction lineup including ex-military Land Rover, Lotus Elan Sprint, motorbikes and more
July 17th, 2026
Sale starts 9am Monday 27th July
A LINEUP of historic vehicles are set to get bidders’ hearts racing when they go under the hammer in Lichfield later this month.
They include a 1956 ex-military Land Rover, iconic sports cars and motorbikes, and feature with Richard Winterton Auctioneers at The Lichfield Auction Centre, Fradley Park, on Monday, July 23.
Don't forget, Richard Winterton Auctioneers offers a special Buyer’s Premium of 10% plus VAT on the hammer price of motor vehicles.
Now, let's take a closer look at the lineup.

The ex-military 88 inch Series One Land Rover - pictured above - entered service with the Durham Light Infantry in 1956 and was decommissioned and registered for domestic road use in 1966.
Ever since then it has been meticulously maintained by the vendor and used on a weekly basis.

Another highlight of the auction is a restored 1972 Lotus Elan Sprint FHC sports coupe - pictured above - in red, gold and white.
This model was the final and most developed version of the original two-seat Elan and, although mechanically derived from the Series 4, Lotus marketed the Sprint as a model in its own right rather.
The Elan boasts a 1558cc big valve petrol engine, dual Dellorto carburettors, Spyder sub-frame, four-speed manual gearbox, iconic pop-up lights and black vinyl bucket seats.
A ‘nut and bolt’ restoration was carried out in 1998.

A third client has consigned a 1967 MG B Roadster convertible sports car and a 1974 Innocenti Mini Cooper. Both cars - pictured above and below - have been restored; the Mini was made under licence in Italy and exported to the UK in 1980.

The sale also features a 1964 Austin-Healey ‘Frogeye’ assembly restoration project in need of completion, including chassis, body panels, gearbox, engine - pictured below left - and other parts.

Motorbikes in the auction include a 1966 Royal Enfield Turbo Twin 250cc and a 1938 Velocette GTP 250cc, both road ready and pictured above right.
Offered for sale as ready for restoration are a 1974 Honda CB360 360cc and a 1955 BSA Golden Flash 650cc with the cherished number plate ‘ROB 326’.
The sale also includes another cherished number plate retention document for ‘BDH 100’.

The catalogue will go live online a week before the sale via our Auction Dates page.
Viewing in person at The Lichfield Auction Centre, Wood End Lane, Fradley Park, takes place between 10am and 4pm on Friday, July 24, or by prior appointment.
