Treasures uncovered during busy Lichfield valuation event at The Auction Café

SPECIALIST David Fergus welcomed people from across the region for free valuations at The Auction Café in Lichfield this week.

The event on Wednesday, August 5, was a hive of activity with 18 visitors throughout the three-hour session with visitors travelling from Lichfield, Hednesford, Burntwood, Stonnall, Burton upon Trent, Longdon, Rugeley, Stafford, Great Barr, Atherstone, Hill Ridware and Tamworth.

David secured several exciting consignments, with highlights including a Kaj Franck decanter set in smoked studio glass, estimated at £800 to £1,000, and an impressive oil on canvas by David van der Kellen III.

He also arranged a home visit to assess a large ceramic collection, which we're looking forward to seeing in the coming weeks.

These newly consigned pieces will feature in our sale on Monday, August 24, at The Lichfield Auction Centre, Fradley Park.

The Auction Café at 34 Market Street is open seven days a week, from 9am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-3pm on Sundays.

The popular coffee shop offers speciality coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soft drinks, ice cream, cakes, cream teas, pastries, soup, toasties, bagels and savoury snacks seven days a week in air-conditioned comfort.

Free valuations of jewellery, watches, gold and silver with Midlands gemmologist Georgina Southam FIRV FGA DGA BA (Hons) next take place at the café from 9.30am-3pm on Tuesday, August 11, and Tuesday and Wednesday August 25-26.

David will next be there on Wednesday, September 2, from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
