Golden results in Monday's sale
A SUBSTANTIAL single-owner collection of coins has totalled £61,315 at auction in Lichfield.
It went under the hammer catalogued as 40 lots with Richard Winterton Auctioneers at The Lichfield Auction Centre on Monday, August 17.
The remarkable collection comprised mostly gold coins, with some silver and novelties.
Highlights included:
A King Charles III 2023 cased five-coin set ‘Remembering the Moment History Stopped and Began Again’, comprising a quintuple sovereign, double sovereign and three sovereigns, sold at £6,000
Queen Elizabeth II 2022 ‘Our Sovereign Remembered’ proof five-coin sovereign set in original presentation case, sold at £5,000
A 2023 ‘A New Era’ proof gold five-coin angel set, comprising a one angel, half angel, quarter angel, tenth angel and twentieth angel, sold at £4,600.
