Seiko, TAG Heuer and Omega among array of watches in Lichfield auction
September 9th, 2026
Sale date Monday 14th September
AUCTIONS are the perfect place for watch lovers to sell or buy and whether you are looking for classic collectables, niche pieces, a horological project or a new daily beater, it’s always worthwhile keeping an eye on our weekly catalogues.
Richard Winterton Auctioneers' sale on Monday, September 14, is a timely case in point, featuring an interesting collection of wristwatches from sports chronographs to gold dress pieces.
Spanning 22 lots from Lot 436 to Lot 457 and ranging from niche vintage automatics and hand wound mechanical timepieces to modern quartz models, the array includes watches by Omega, TAG Heuer, Seiko, Zodiak, Maurice Lacroix and Tissot.
Here are some of our staff favourites:
Lot 443 A 1970s Meister-Anker - funky 70s space-age aesthetic with a rotating world-timer bezel and high-contrast dial accented by a vibrant neon orange chronograph hand (pictured above left)
Lot 449 A Zodiac 'poor man's Carrera' - so-called because these models were actually manufactured by Heuer and share the same aesthetic as the iconic Heuer Carrera, but were branded Zodiac as a more budget-friendly alternative (pictured above right)
Lot 440 A 1970s Seiko Speed-Timer chronograph - nicknamed 'Bullhead' due to the top-mounted chronograph pushers' resemblance to a bull's horns. Note the sriking vertical day/date display at 6 o'clock (pictured above centre)
Lot 439 A vintage Mickey Mouse Ingersoll - made in U.S.A, with Mickey's arms as the watch hands and a sub-dial featuring three chasing Mickeys.
All of the above and the rest of the timepieces going under the hammer on Monday can be viewed online now. View in person at The Lichfield Auction Centre, Wood End Lane, Fradley Park, between 10am and 4pm on Friday, September 11.
The auction starts at 9am and people can bid live in the room, go online or get in touch for a pre-arranged telephone bid.
