Timed sale totals £12,500

RICHARD Winterton Auctioneers' special timed online only sale featuring more than 75 lots of single malt whisky, fine Cognacs, Champagne, fine wines and vintage port has closed, realising £12,500.

Highlights included a rare bottle of Brora natural cask strength Scottish malt whisky, distilled in 1977 and aged 21 years, selling at £750, and six bottles of Chateau Musar selling at £520.

Four bottles of 'exceptional' white Burgundy made £680 – two bottles of 1991 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, one bottle of 1999 Corton-Charlemagne and a bottle of 1999 Meursault Cote de Murger, pictured at top of page.

Ten bottles of Les Pagodes de Cos Saint-Estephe 2000 red wine fetched £320, two bottles of Porto Colheita 1952 port sold at £280 and a bottle of The Macallan 10 year old single malt Scotch whisky made £260.

The next specialist auction of wine and whisky is lined up for Monday, June 9 – already consigned are a number of bottles of 1963 Porto Krohn Colheita, arguably the finest vintage of the 20th century.
