Preview: Giant collection of Aston Villa programmes, matchday tickets and signed memorabilia from 1940s onward in Lichfield auction

Sale date Monday 23rd November

A HUGE collection of football memorabilia goes under the hammer with Richard Winterton Auctioneers on November 23.

The incredible archive focussing largely on Aston Villa FC arrived at The Lichfield Auction Centre in scores of boxes and folders, and the team has been hard at work unpacking, sorting and starting the cataloguing process.

The collection is scheduled to form a major part of our sale on Monday, November 23.

Some fantastic football history has been coming to light, including:

• Matchday tickets dating from the 1940s and 1950s onwards

• Signed Aston Villa memorabilia and ephemera spanning from the 1940s right through to the 1990s

• Matchday programmes covering decades of football history, from the 1940s through to the 2000s.

We are still unpacking and discovering what’s in the boxes, so keep an eye out on our socials for more updates and sneak peeks as we reveal more of this fantastic collection.

The catalogue can be viewed online a week before the sale via our Auction Calendar.

View in person at The Lichfield Auction Centre, Wood End Lane, Fradley Park, between 10am and 4pm on Friday, November 20.

The auction starts at 9am and people can bid live in the room, go online or get in touch for a pre-arranged telephone bid.
