May The Toys Be With You! Star Wars auction at Lichfield exhibition

RICHARD Winterton Auctioneers is planning a special Star Wars auction in Lichfield as part of a major exhibition at The Hub at St Mary’s.

May The Toys Be With You opens on Saturday, January 22, and is billed as an 'absolute must see for fans of Star Wars'.

The exhibition features one of the UK’s finest collections of vintage Star Wars toys and original cinema posters, celebrating the highly collectable vintage toy line and the iconic design work and art of the movies.

People inspired by the exhibition to hunt out their old Star Wars toys and memorabilia will be able to have them valued for free and consigned for the special auction on Thursday, March 17, before the exhibition’s grand finale.

The Hub will benefit from a percentage of proceeds from the sale.

Richard Winterton Auctioneers is also sponsoring a special launch event for the exhibition on Wednesday, February 16.

May The Toys Be With You has broken visitor attendance records at museums around the country.

Auctioneer Richard Winterton said: "As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I am sure The Force will be with this spectacular exhibition at The Hub At St Mary’s.

"It will be a truly out-of-this-world event for Lichfield and will see the city talked about from Coruscant to Tatooine!"

Richard Winterton Auctioneers has a long association with The Hub at St Mary’s and holds free valuations of watches, jewellery and silver there on Tuesdays from 9.30am-11am.

Viewing for the Star Wars auction is expected to be held at The Hub on Wednesday, March 16, the day before the sale.
