Macmillan Coffee Mornings at Lichfield and Tamworth raise £287 for charity
MACMILLAN Coffee Mornings held by Richard Winterton Auctioneers have raised more than £280 for the charity, which supports people living with cancer.Staff baked cakes aplenty for coffee mornings during the Antiques & Home Sale at The Lichfield Auction Centre on Monday and Tuesday, September 25 and 26, and at the Tamworth auction on Wednesday, September 27.
The events, in memory of friend and colleague Elaine Axton, raised a total of £287.69 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Senior valuer Sarah Williams said: "I want to thank everyone who supported the Macmillan Coffee Morning we held throughout last week, whether you contributed with biscuits and cakes, bought cakes or donated a monetary contribution.
"The total we can send to Macmillan is £287.69 which is fantastic. £49.50 of this was donated via the QR code, whihc means the charity can claim gift aid on that money.
"The furniture department donated £50 towards the total and the jar on reception contributed a further £50.03.
"As £247.00 would pay for a Macmillan nurse for a whole day, this really will make a difference to someone."
A team from Richard Winterton Auctioneers also took part in a Macmillan Coffee Morning organised by Burton Market Hall traders on Friday, September 29.
