February auction at Tamworth features toys, trains, medals, militaria and collection of stereoscopic cards

VINTAGE toys, stereoscopic cards, model railway locomotives, medals and militaria all feature in Richard Winterton's next Tamworth auction.

The sale, at The Tamworth Auction Rooms on Wednesday, February 21, features in excess of 460 lots including model aircraft, die-cast vehicles and a large collection of boxed trains.

Military items include a collection of World War Two Air Ministry radio communication receivers and an Air Ministry transmitter, other military equipment, badges, medals and even a brass ship's propeller.

The collection of stereoscope cards are from a single vendor collection and more will feature in future sales.

Other highlights include a 3.5ins gauge live steam model of 'The Princess Royal' Princess Class locomotive in maroon livery, built by a Swadlincote man during the late 1960s, a radio control Shell tanker constructed from a kit, and a 1930s Lionel O gauge clockwork Santa car with Mickey Mouse in a gift pack complete with Christmas tree.
