Coronavirus update: actions on COVID-19

WITH the escalating threat of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK, Richard Winterton Auctioneers has put a number of measures in place to prioritise the safety of all our customers and staff.

We continue to take proactive steps to face the challenge of this constantly evolving situation by carefully monitoring advice from the Government and the World Health Organisation.

Please note that the Fine Arts & Specialist Sale on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 24-25, will continue as scheduled - see below for more information.

We have cancelled all valuations at The Hub at St Mary’s in Lichfield city centre, The Trinity Centre in Sutton Coldfield and Burton Albion Community Trust until further notice. We have also decided to postpone our weekly Tuesday valuations at The Lichfield Auction Centre.

However, from Monday to Friday we will be open 9am-5pm to offer valuations on a drop-off basis every day throughout the week. Customers requiring this service can securely leave items at our premises for subsequent appraisal by specialists.

We also offer valuations by email - contact office@richardwinterton.co.uk with details and images of the items and we will provide a valuation (subject to final inspection before consignment).

Fine Arts & Specialist Sale – March 24-25

We would like to reassure people that the salerooms are open for viewings and our Fine Arts & Specialist Sale on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 24-25, will continue as scheduled, commencing 10am both days.

Our premises regularly receives a deep clean and we remain vigilant in monitoring this ever-evolving situation. Please be assured that we are doing everything we possibly can to ensure the safety of all who visit and work at The Lichfield Auction Centre.

The Fine Arts & Specialist Sale catalogue can be viewed digitally here and information on the sale and bidding online is available here.

We have also extended viewing in order to regulate numbers and also offer private appointments. Free printed sale catalogues are available.

Viewing will take place on:

• Thursday, March 19, 10am-3pm
• Friday, March 20, 10am-3pm
• Saturday, March 21, 9.30am-12pm
• Monday, March 23, 10am-4pm
• On mornings of sale from 8.30am.
