COLLECTABLE, vintage and modern toys appealing to kids of all ages are set to go under the hammer in Tamworth next week.

Richard Winterton Auctioneers in Church Street will hold the Toys & Trains Sale on Wednesday, November 23, starting at 9.30am.

Viewing is the day before, Tuesday, November 22, from 10am-4pm by appointment – telephone 01827 217746.

Tamworth toy sale November 2022 The market for all types of vintage toys is evermore popular as adults hunt for items they remember playing with as children.

Items amongst the 400 lots include collectable boxed 1960s die-cast including Corgi and Dinky, Matchbox cars, Scalextric and live steam trains.

There is a large single owner collection of German HO trains, including boxed locomotives and rolling stock all with German liveries, and teddy bears including Steiff, Merrythought, Rupert and Friends items, soldier figures by W Britain, Airfix kits, Pelham puppets, Action Man and Masters Of The Universe.

Modern toys include sets of Indiana Jones Lego, Power Rangers and limited edition figures of the virtual band Gorillaz, formed by Blur musician Damon Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett.

There are also vintage gaming consoles and comics including edition #2 of 2000AD plus Silver Surfer, Superman, Fantastic Four and Batman.

Tamworth toy sale November 2022 The sale features toys ranging from vintage to modern, including live steam, a large collection of German HO gauge trains and limited edition Gorillaz figures.

“The market for all types of vintage toys is evermore popular as adults hunt for items they remember playing with as children,” said toy valuer Jon Price.

“And we are seeing more modern examples start to become collectables as the years pass.

“Model trains and die-cast are always popular and we expect a good deal of interest in our November auction at Tamworth.”
