Classic 1973 Triumph Stag V8 at auction
IT’S an all-time British classic and it could be yours for a winning bid.
Richard Winterton Auctioneers has this 1973 Triumph Stag 3.0 litre V8 automatic convertible as Lot 1000 in the Antiques & Home Sale from 10am on Monday, June 29.
This iconic grand tourer - recovered by our team during a recent house clearance - is finished in white, has a coupe hard shell and comes with a replacement soft top for open air motoring.
The interior is black vinyl with no apparent rips or scuffs, the door cards are good with a later speaker fitted to each and the dashboard looks in good condition too.
First registered on November 21 1973, this example has four previous keepers who doubtless enjoyed clocking up the vehicle’s unverified 93,636 miles.
The last tax disc in the window shows November 2002 and the MOT certificate corresponds with that date. V5C and one key present, registration number PNX 976.
The Triumph engine turns on a spanner and doesn’t show any major rust or major oil leaks and the wheels appear to be the original five spoke alloys.
There are signs of recent service parts; the fuel filter looks new, as do the hose clips.
The Stromberg carburettors appear to have been cleaned and the Lucas ignition and HT leads look very recent.
The boot contains an array of spare parts mostly still in their original boxes, making this a perfect project car.
Richard Winterton Auctioneers’ online-only Antiques & Home Sales feature jewellery, watches, militaria, pictures, coins, toys, furniture, antiques, collectables and memorabilia.
All sales have been moved online due to COVID-19 safety measures and the family firm offers a range of options for contactless, appointment-only valuations as well as estimates via email and WhatsApp.
