Burton here we come! Lichfield auctioneer expands in Staffordshire

RICHARD Winterton Auctioneers has opened a new unit in Burton Market Hall, offering free weekly valuations of jewellery and watches.

The premises in the iconic Market Place building will also offer space for members of the public to learn more about auctions.

Starting on October 24, people are invited to drop in between 10am and 1pm on Mondays with jewellery and watches for free valuations.

General consignments of items for auction may also be dropped off from 10am-4pm on Mondays.

A special valuation event for Corgi, Dinky and other die-cast vehicles, tinplate models, retro, vintage and modern toys, teddies, trains and railwayana with Burton toy specialist Jon Price is planned for Monday, November 14.

“The auction market is red hot right now and it’s a brilliant time to pop in and see if you have any hidden treasures tucked away in a drawer or up in the loft.

“It’s always a special moment when a routine valuation turns into us surprising a client with the news that they are sitting on a fortune!

“We’re looking forward to bringing that auction magic to Burton Market Hall.”

The new unit is the family firm’s third Staffordshire premises, joining its headquarters at The Lichfield Auction Centre, Fradley Park, and The Tamworth Auction Rooms, which opened in October 2021.

The Winterton family has been auctioneering in Staffordshire for seven generations since 1864.
